Ohana Prayer 409 – 1 Thessalonians 1

For the word of the Lord has resounded from you and has echoed [like thunder], not only in Macedonia and Achaia, but in every place [the news of] your [great] faith in God has spread, so that we never need to say anything about it. I Thes 1:8 (AMP)

Elohim, praise and worship from us is fitting! You have kept us in peace during our resting at nights. In the mornings, we can approach You for our daily bread. Sharing with each other, waiting for opportunities to amplify of Your love as we are united to channel blessings out unto the world. So that each family, community, and nations can experience such peace unspeakable! We thank you for giving us the church and the Great Commission, to bear witness to our living God. When we, the church, experience the rushing tide of the pandemic, the fiery insults, our physical ailments, our broken relationships, inimical thoughts and teachings of the current society, we can absorb the shocks as we are the living wall which is built on Your word as demonstrated by our forefathers of faith. Let us yield ourselves to Your guidance and granting of the logos in each of our lives.

Lord Jesus, only Your followers can truly praise and worship You! You came that we may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance to the full, till it overflows. While we have this abundant life, You have purposed it for being a blessing and being a servant. Bearing witness to You as we run this race. All the spiritual gifts given to us is not just for our edification but for live demonstration. For however we measure to others, the same is done to us as well. Lord Jesus forgive us for losing our watchful heart, indulging in falsehood, gossip, lies and greedy thoughts, that besiege us like clouds and causing us to lose our way. Forgive us for forgetting You when we are full, doing things that blaspheme Your name when we are lacking, and we feel uneasy and jealous when we see the favor of others. Please cleanse us again with Your precious blood, and be gracious to us, so that we are neither poor nor rich, and be satisfied with the daily bread. So that the health of the body, mind, and soul that You have given us remain sanctified.

Be thou our vision, O Holy Spirit! Lead us when we need to pray! Lead us when we need to continue our journey on the pathway that leads to the golden shore! Let us use our love to conquer difficulties and trials, use our patience to wait upon our Lord. Prod us when we have gone away from the steps that follow Jesus. We beseech for Your blessing of a heart of joy, an enthusiastic attitude to live out our faith so our witness is effective and vivid and be united with each other as well as upholding the body of Christ! As we face the pandemic’s effects of wariness, help us to have resilience to assist those who are in need as well as those who feels hopelessness. Thank you for the open doors of opportunity so that we may spread the Gospel, love and intercede for one another, minister to the needy, and able to demonstrate that our faith is not only words.

Pray this in the name of Jesus. Amen.

1 Thessalonians 1

1-10 Paul, Silas and Timothy,

To the church of the Thessalonians in God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ:

Grace and peace to you.

Thanksgiving for the Thessalonians’ Faith

We always thank God for all of you and continually mention you in our prayers. We remember before our God and Father your work produced by faith, your labor prompted by love, and your endurance inspired by hope in our Lord Jesus Christ.

For we know, brothers and sisters loved by God, that he has chosen you, because our gospel came to you not simply with words but also with power, with the Holy Spirit and deep conviction. You know how we lived among you for your sake. You became imitators of us and of the Lord, for you welcomed the message during severe suffering with the joy given by the Holy Spirit. And so, you became a model to all the believers in Macedonia and Achaia. The Lord’s message rang out from you not only in Macedonia and Achaia—your faith in God has become known everywhere. Therefore, we do not need to say anything about it, for they themselves report what kind of reception you gave us. They tell how you turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God, and to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead—Jesus, who rescues us from the coming wrath.
