Ohana Prayer 398 – Ephesians 4
2 Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love.
3 Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.
4 There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope when you were called;
5 one Lord, one faith, one baptism;
6 one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.
11 So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers,
12 to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of
Christ may be built up
15 Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will grow to become in every respect the mature body of him who is the head, that is, Christ.
16 From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work.
23 to be made new in the attitude of your minds;
24 and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.
31 Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice.
32 Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.
Our Father God in Heaven, the Everlasting Creator, we offer our praise to You. Lord, call for us to give up our old way of life and let the Spirit renew our thoughts and attitudes. Just like heaven and earth, they will wear out like a garment, You will change them like a robe. You are a loving father who never changes. You are good; Your love is eternal and Your faithfulness lasts forever.
Thanks be to our Heavenly Father who is righteous, holy, and just. We start the day by focusing on Your word and rely on it to guide us, to straighten our crooked minds, to stay away from evil, rebellious and deceitful things because You will cut off the evildoers. The boastful cannot stand in your sight; for You are not a God who takes pleasure in wickedness; no evil can dwell with You. Let us follow Your way of wisdom so we can be confident that we are on the right path.
Thank you, Lord Jesus for blessing each one of us with one of your many wonderful gifts. Let us mature to the full measure of the stature of You so that we will not let deceitful people trick us by their false teachings, which are like winds that toss us around from place to place. Instead, let us lead a life worthy of the calling to which we have been called.
Lord Jesus, forgives us for becoming sluggish and ignorant, and for indulgence of selfish desires and gossips. We allow the weeds of bitterness, rage, anger, malice, slander to take roots in our hearts. Beneath the banner of righteous we instigate grievances, fights, divisions, and condemnation of one another. Not only we are hurting our church and family, but also causing sorrow and grief to the elderly and the young.
Holy Spirit, open our eyes that we may see the instability of the world, the global pandemic, disasters everywhere, bumpy roads ahead, and bleak outlook for the future. All these make us feel like our bones are on fire. Please ring the alarm to warn us that the end time is near so we will do the thing that is most important now.
Holy Spirit, please ignite the small bunch of dead branches and leaves for the church, fan the flame of revival, and push for larger branches to break and throw in willingly so that the fire of revival and the enthusiasm for the gospel can continue. Let the revival fire spread by adding more big logs. Let it becomes a blazing fire that the world may see the true light of Christ’s salvation, turning darkness into light. Inspire us and let our spiritual zeal become that big log burning brightly for Christ.
In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
