Ohana Prayer 261 – Matthew 17

4 Peter said to Jesus, “Lord, it is good for us to be here. If you wish, I will put up three shelters—one for you, one for Moses and one for Elijah.”

5 While he was still speaking, a bright cloud covered them, and a voice from the cloud said, “This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased. Listen to him!”

18 Jesus rebuked the demon, and it came out of the boy, and he was healed at that moment.

19 Then the disciples came to Jesus in private and asked, “Why couldn’t we drive it out?”

20 He replied, “Because you have so little faith. Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.”

24 After Jesus and his disciples arrived in Capernaum, the collectors of the two-drachma temple tax came to Peter and asked, “Doesn’t your teacher pay the temple tax?”

25 “Yes, he does,” he replied. When Peter came into the house, Jesus was the first to speak. “What do you think, Simon?” he asked. “From whom do the kings of the earth collect duty and taxes—from their own children or from others?”

26 “From others,” Peter answered. “Then the children are exempt,” Jesus said to him.

27 “But so that we may not cause offense, go to the lake and throw out your line. Take the first fish you catch; open its mouth and you will find a four-drachma coin. Take it and give it to them for my tax and yours.”

Praise to the Creator of ALL things, Jehovah! Our heavenly Father, at the predawn hour and yet of any sunlight, we seek of You in pray. Waiting upon of Your words. Waiting for responses to our supplications. Waiting for Your inspection of our hearts, minds, and soul. When we raise our eyes to the mountain, thank you Heavenly Father! Our help is from you! The sun will not harm us by day, nor the moon by night. The Lord will watch over our coming and going both now and forevermore.

King of kings, Lord of lord, Jesus! Thank you for our salvation! We affirm that we will obey Your teachings, focus on speaking and acting in Your way, and concentrate on becoming children that please God. We plead for Your mercy of our feebleness that our faith is lackluster like plants unable to burst out of the brier bush. Nevertheless, when we lift up our hands, our tired body and pray with our whimper voices in Your name, You will show mercy and take pity of us. You are our strengths in troubled times and able to save us from our follies.

Dear Holy Spirit, come and unite of Your churches so that we can come to pray in unison! To pray for the bounding of the work of Satan in the pandemic and the evilness in our hearts. Let Your flame of tongue decent unto the churches bearing witness of Your presence and pray with speeches according to Your will! Revive us for the Day of the Lord is drawing near!

You have the power to order of miracles such as the coin in the fish’s mouth or unlimited oil in the jar but yet live quietness within us to lead us, to build us up, to help us to bear witness to the world, to exercise of our civic duties, and to walk in the path of bringing glory and praises to our Lord!

Pray in the precious name of Jesus. Amen.
