Ohana Prayer 248 – Matthew 4

1 Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil.

4 Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.’

14 to fulfill what was said through the prophet Isaiah:

16 the people living in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of the shadow of death a light has dawned.”

17 From that time on Jesus began to preach, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven has come near.” Jesus Calls His First Disciples

18 As Jesus was walking beside the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers, Simon called Peter and his brother Andrew. They were casting a net into the lake, for they were fishermen. 

19 “Come, follow me,” Jesus said, “and I will send you out to fish for people.” 

20 At once they left their nets and followed him.

23 Jesus went throughout Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the good news of the kingdom, and healing every disease and sickness among the people.

LORD, You can see and search our hearts, our Heavenly Father. Thanks to be You for You allow of resting in the nights peacefully, embalmed in Your love. When we are awakened in the mornings, we know that You will lead us throughout the days. Unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labor in vain.

Unless the Lord watches over the city, the guards stand watch in vain. Even though we now are travelling through this wilderness of the pandemic with each of us facing ever different challenges. We still firmly believe and trust that all things are under Your control. Knowing that we live not just by bread along but with Your word that comes out of Your mouth.

Dear Lord Jesus, You walked on this earth. What beautiful feet! Whenever You preform the miracles, they were not to booster Your fame. Rather, Jehovah Rapha brought healing to the sick, the bounded by unclean spirits, the paralyzed, and restored a broken dream of a father. Lord, forgive us taking the Gospel for granted, Your spiritual gifts used for ourselves, pay no attention to the tarnished image of the Church. We give excuses of the need of Stay In Place is our first priority, failing to send forth the light that brings peace, comfort, and joy. We also lost faith of the coming days by focusing the current circumstances. Let us learn that though there are no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the stalls, yet we will rejoice in the Lord, we will be joyful in God my Savior. Rekindle our faith and trust in You, renew of our strength, and power to continue the journey onto higher grounds.

Holy Spirit, lead us into the understanding and freedom in the truth. Daily will we rely on the Father’s provisions and overcome the worldly desire of material gains and serving for the sake of gaining power. O Holy Spirit, inspire us to respond to the Lord’s calling, daily bearing the cross to follow Christ, and casing out the Gospel net. Care for the weak. Point out the correct path for the confused and desperate. Lift up the light of the Truth so others can know of the path of hope.
