Ohana Prayer 245 – Matthew 1

17 Thus there were fourteen generations in all from Abraham to David, fourteen from David to the exile to Babylon, and fourteen from the exile to the Messiah.

18 This is how the birth of Jesus the Messiah came about: His mother Mary was pledged to be married to Joseph, but before they came together, she was found to be pregnant through the Holy Spirit.

19 Because Joseph her husband was faithful to the law, and yet did not want to expose her to public disgrace, he had in mind to divorce her quietly.

20 But after he had considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, “Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit.

21 She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.”

22 All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had said through the prophet:

23 “The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel” (which means “God with us”).

24 When Joseph woke up, he did what the angel of the Lord had commanded him and took Mary home as his wife.

Thanks to our Heavenly Father! You have shown by the genealogy of our Lord Jesus of honorable women’s name to present to future generations of their righteousness, faith, hope, and grace. For we know that if not for Your omnificence, predestined, predetermined, and allowances, all of our worldly gained status or families borne into shall be in vain. Today, grant us the wisdom to comprehend and complete of Your callings for us, to travel the paths that You have chosen for us, and to live out of Your wills in our lives.

Lord Jesus, we confess that You are the Messiah, our Savior! For You came to complete the totality of the LAW that does not save, rather, trusting You by faith to have our sins forgiven, to have eternal life, and reconciled with our Heavenly Father. Thank you for Your promise that when two or three of us gather to pray and in unison, You will answer and also be among us when asked in Your name. Emmanuel is Your name that give us joy, confidence, and comfort.

O Holy Spirit, You were from the beginning, even creation! Thank you for Your patience and silence for over 400 years. And now is the time that You bring us into the new era, new testament, opened the floodgate of mercy, and closer relationship with the Trinity. Now facing the pandemic, we acknowledge that not by might or power that we can overcome. Even, things have not gotten better but turned worse. We now lift up our hands, confess of our sins, pray for relief and healing from this pandemic. Open the door of mercy to shower us with blessings and peace that beyond understanding.
