Ohana Prayer 203 – Proverbs 16

2  All a person’s ways seem pure to them, but motives are weighed by the LORD.

11  Honest scales and balances belong to the LORD; all the weights in the bag are of his making.

17  The highway of the upright avoids evil; those who guard their ways preserve their lives.

18  Pride goes before destruction, a haughty spirit before a fall.

24  Gracious words are a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones.

25  There is a way that appears to be right, but in the end it leads to death.

31  Gray hair is a crown of splendor; it is attained in the way of righteousness.

32  Better a patient person than a warrior, one with self-control than one who takes a city.

33  The lot is cast into the lap, but its every decision is from the LORD.

Praise to the Lord of all things, our Father in heaven. All things come to show your glory, power, wisdom, kindness, justice and truth. Thank you for creating man in your own image. We belong to you. We are your people, the sheep of your pasture. We come to shout your praises and sing your virtues because you are good and your love endures forever; your faithfulness continues through all generations. We worship and serve you with gladness so that your name can be praised throughout the world.

Lord Jesus, you are our Lord. You are the king who governs our hearts. Please be the master of our lives. Please come and examine our lives, our words and actions as well as our inner thoughts, motives and wishes. Please see through our hidden pride and wicked schemes so that everything we do is aligned with your holy standards. Leads us to build ourselves on the most holy truth, pray often in the Holy Spirit, seek your guidance in our footsteps; so that we can forever remain in God’s love and look to your mercy in our daily lives.

Mighty and powerful Holy Spirit, you can turn curses into blessings. Please remain close to us amid the pandemic and help us discern confusing political lies. Help us to stay away from the evil passions and desires that God abhors. Otherwise, we may conspire with evil and perversion in secret and blatantly put them into action; resulting in falling into our own trap and end up in self-inflicted misfortune. Help us to abide by your precepts with humility in our hearts, live with fairness and integrity and speak righteous words; thus making the people around us feel loved and the bones get healed. Then we can revive our community with the spring of Living Water, be blessed and take refuge in Jehovah together.

We pray in the holy name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen!
