Ohana Prayer 201 – Proverbs 14
1 The wise woman builds her house, but with her own hands the foolish one tears hers down.
4 Where there are no oxen, the manger is empty, but from the strength of an ox come abundant harvests.
12 There is a way that appears to be right, but in the end it leads to death.
17 A quick-tempered person does foolish things, and the one who devises evil schemes is hated.
27 The fear of the LORD is a fountain of life, turning a person from the snares of death.
34 Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin condemns any people.
Our Father in heaven, you are the sovereign Lord who knows our hearts. Thank you for your reminder. When we get up early in the morning, let us take refuge in you with a heart of worship. We come to you to adjust the focus of our lives, so that we can have clear and definite standards to help make decisions and interact with others. “Where there are no oxen, the manger is empty, but from the strength of an ox come abundant harvest.” Therefore, guide us today to be watchful, upright and diligent so we can truly be a living testimony, honoring God and benefitting others.
Thank you, Lord Jesus Christ. Please come to be the head of our family and lead us to live out the testimony of a beautiful family life in which everyone feels warmth, care and support. Whether it is the head of the family, the mistress of the family or even the young masters of the family, everyone accepts each other and often responds with kind words; just like salt giving harmonious taste to all dishes and building blocks interlocking to build up a joyful house. Lord Jesus, you are also the head of the church. The pandemic has stopped all onsite activities of the church and the people are isolated. Encourage us to wait patiently, adhere to all safety measures and work together to halt the pandemic so that peace and safety of the city can be restored. We firmly believe joyful worship is at hand.
Thank you, Holy Spirit. You intercede for us with speechless groans. Before our heavenly Father who examines people’s hearts, you pray for us for the pandemic and social turmoil we are facing. You do not hesitate to come into our hearts to set our body, mind and spirit free of the bondage of corruption, bitterness, grievances and worries. You lead us to enjoy the glory and freedom of being God’s children. When we are weak and do not know how to pray, you help us to see that “in all things God works for the good of those who love him.” Holy Spirit, give us the oil of life so we can rekindle our soon-to-be extinct lamps with hope and joy and experience your grace on us.
We pray in the holy name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen!
