Ohana Prayer 193 – Proverbs 6
6 Go to the ant, you sluggard; consider its ways and be wise!
7 It has no commander, no overseer or ruler,
8 yet it stores its provisions in summer and gathers its food at harvest.
10 A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest—
11 and poverty will come on you like a thief and scarcity like an armed man.
12 A troublemaker and a villain, who goes about with a corrupt mouth,
13 who winks maliciously with his eye, signals with his feet and motions with his fingers,
14 who plots evil with deceit in his heart— he always stirs up conflict.
Our faithful Abba God, thank you for waking us up refreshed without lingering in bed. In the morning we get up with clean hands and clear hearts, wholeheartedly climb the mountain of Jehovah to stand in
your holy sanctuary. With awe, we seek your kingdom and your righteousness, look up to your commandments and your law as guiding light. May you admonish us with your teachings, make it clear
the way of life for us and we can experience your daily abundant provision.
Lord Jesus, you are our confidant. Thank you for not forsaking us. You give us personal support every day and carefully lead us to heaven. In the suffering of this pandemic, you understand our worries, loneliness, sorrow, bitterness and pressure brought about by life and difficulties. You whisper to us, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Thank you Lord. We can honestly confide to you our weaknesses, the abuses, tribulations, persecutions and hardships we face; knowing that when we are weak, you are strong. We have the assurance of protection by your wonderful power. Therefore we do not have to worry about tomorrow. Each day has enough trouble of its own.
Holy Spirit, please forbid us to do what the Lord hates and help us to discard our arrogant eyes, lying tongues, hands that shed innocent blood, hearts that conspire evil, and feet that run fast towards evil. Keep us away from false witnesses who love to tell lies and those who disseminate quarrels to divide the brothers. Tell us not to offer our bodies to become slaves of uncleanliness, lawlessness and unrighteousness. In order that we will not lose our testimony before unbelievers and bring shame to the name of the Lord. Please use the Holy Word to build us into loyal, industrious, foresighted, committed and responsible Christians. So we can discern the truth carefully, establish the virtues of godliness; not to be idle and fruitless and fall short of God’s grace. May all glory be to our heavenly Father.
We pray in the holy name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen!
