Ohana Prayer 424 – 2 Timothy 2

Therefore, if anyone cleanses himself from these things [which are dishonorable—disobedient, sinful], he will be a vessel for honor, sanctified [set apart for a special purpose and], useful to the Master, prepared for every good work. II Tim 2:21 (AMP)

Our heavenly Father, giver of the light of truth! We come into Your presence, in the mornings, with gratuity and a humble heart. Opening the Word, may it fill us with wisdom, insight, purge of unrest and fear. Teach us to purge of yesterday’s occurrence that caused us suffering and fear. Knowing that wherever we go, You will travel with us! Clinging onto Your promise: I will be with you; I will never leave you nor forsake you. Be strong and courageous! We will be blessed when we follow You with obedience, daily. In the face of a dangerous epidemic, many natural and man-made disasters, the pressure of war, and a hard life, thank you, Heavenly Father, for wrapping us up with thick and multi-layered love and compassion, protecting our lives and protecting us from everything evading disasters. However, You do not expect us to hide in this warm nest, close ourselves, and waste our time. You want us to be valuable vessels, to be Your worthy workers, to send sheets of benevolent and compassionate quilts to the disadvantaged communities, and to send hot lunch boxes to the homes of the poor.

Thank you and praise You, Lord Jesus, who has risen from the dead! You have given us a completed salvation. You have not left a benefit to us. You have exhausted all your energy and time so that we do not need to add an ounce of trace of strength to complete our salvation. Thank you for Your love. We firmly believe that if we die with Christ, we will also live with You. If we can watch and endure, we will also reign with You. Please give us the faith and ability to have the gospel. The desire to endure suffering for this reason is even willing to be bound and yoked, so that the word of God will not be bound. Lord Jesus forgives our transgressions! In a peaceful and stable life, we lose our motivation. Forgive us for spending time spinning around on the tip of the horns and losing the direction of life. Forgive us for abusing the truth with pointless arguments. Forgetting that these arguments will bring us into competition and an ungodly dead end. As a result, we have caused the foul-smelling boils in Your body of Christ, which rots bigger and bigger. We deviate from the truth and cause the love of Christ to collapse completely, and Christ’s body is hurt both inside and outside.

Holy Spirit we beseech You to pull us out of the abyss of fruitless arguments, avoid worldly false talk, so that our hearts and minds will not be polluted, so that we can stand up as servants of the Lord and stop the arguments. Pray for the Holy Spirit of truth to teach us how to treat others with gentleness, to be good at teaching, to be patient, and to persuade those who resist with gentleness. Pray for the Holy Spirit to give us the spiritual fire of revival to light us, purify us, lead us away from disobedient and sinful things, cherish the opportunity to be valuable vessels, become holy, fit the Lord’s use, and prepare to do all kinds of virtuous deeds. Keep us from all kinds of unclean and unrighteous desires. Rejuvenate our churches, evoke a movement of pure-hearted prayer, put aside all world affairs and world conditions that disturb our worries and concerns, and pursue personal spiritual advancement with one heart, and pursue justice, faith, love, and peace together with the members. Do not retreat even in the face of suffering, can be strong and bold, and exalt Christ.

Pray this in the name of Jesus. Amen.

II Timothy 2

2-5 And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable people who will also be qualified to teach others. Join with me in suffering, like a good soldier of Christ Jesus. No one serving as a soldier gets entangled in civilian affairs, but rather tries to please his commanding officer. Similarly, anyone who competes as an athlete does not receive the victor’s crown except by competing according to the rules.

13-16 if we are faithless, he remains faithful, for he cannot disown himself. Keep reminding God’s people of these things. Warn them before God against quarreling about words; it is of no value, and only ruins those who listen. Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth. Avoid godless chatter, because those who indulge in it will become more and more ungodly.

20-22 In a large house there are articles not only of gold and silver, but also of wood and clay; some are for special purposes and some for common use. Those who cleanse themselves from the latter will be instruments for special purposes, made holy, useful to the Master and prepared to do any good work.

Flee the evil desires of youth and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace, along with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart.
