Ohana Prayer 423 – 2 Timothy 1
For God did not give us a spirit of timidity or cowardice or fear, but [He has given us a spirit] of power and of love and of sound judgment and personal discipline [abilities that result in a calm, well-balanced mind and self-control]. II Tim 1:7 (AMP)
Praise the Lord who is generous with grace, mercy and peace, our Father God in heaven. Get up early in the morning, we can get into your abode with your abundance of loving kindness, and we will bow down to You, in awe of You. Whoever finds You will find life. You will give us a strong, loving, and reserved heart.
Thank you for guarding us with grace and kindness like a shield on all sides. Thank you for storing infinite mercy and peace for us, how great it is! You will hide us in a secret place in front of You, lest we are trapped by the tactics of others. You will secretly keep us in the pavilion from the quarrel of words.
Thank you and praise Lord Jesus for your promise of life to us. If we drink the living water You have given, we will never be thirsty. It will become a fountain in us and flow to eternal life. Thank you for dying on the cross to achieve salvation for us shedding Your blood, so that all those who see the Son and believe will gain eternal life, and not lose any of them. Lord Jesus, You are the true bread from Heavenly Father and the bread of our life. Those who come to You will not be hungry, and those who believe in You will never be thirsty. Lord Jesus, please forgive us for forgetting that we are bruised and dying stray sheep, yet You are still willing to pay a heavy price to redeem us, save us from the shackles of sin, and rescue us from the cage of despair. Forgive us for the gifts and missions we have neglected. As we are tainted by the world, we use our talents, knowledge and expertise to elevate our identity, forgetting to sacrifice our lives for the flock, to give selfless love for the family, and the disadvantaged communities and races with unconditional love. Forgive us for shackling Your holy work like a chain with our personal mood, attitude, aptitude, desire, and scheming. Forgetting that we should attend to the things of our heavenly Father’s heart so that we can be Your true disciples.
Holy Spirit, come like a fire to enliven our body, mind, and soul, and the spirit shines into our inner chambers! So that what we live now is no longer to live for ourselves, but to live out Christ wholeheartedly, totally, and with all our strength. Teach us to renounce our sin and to place our burdens under the cross. Let us run with endurance and active persistence the race that is set before us, looking away from all that will distract us and focusing our eyes on Jesus, who is the Author and Perfecter of faith. Holy Spirit, we sincerely pray to you, and ask Your mighty hand to show mercy, to smear the new wave of epidemics with grace, to intercept the harm of war to civilians, and to encourage the leaders of the world to be able make correct and selfless decisions for the well-being of the people. Please save the people from natural disasters and man-made disasters. Please rain on the barren soil of poverty, give them the ability to break through hardships and give them hope today. Holy Spirit, use the holy fire to open the doors and windows of the church so that we will not stay in words, but in loving actions, so that people can experience the great love of the Father.
Pray this in the name of Jesus. Amen.
II Timothy 1
3-13 I thank God, whom I serve, as my ancestors did, with a clear conscience, as night and day I constantly remember you in my prayers. Recalling your tears, I long to see you, so that I may be filled with joy. I am reminded of your sincere faith, which first lived in your grandmother Lois and in your mother Eunice and, I am persuaded, now lives in you also. For this reason, I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you through the laying on of my hands. For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline. So do not be ashamed of the testimony about our Lord or of me his prisoner. Rather, join with me in suffering for the gospel, by the power of God. He has saved us and called us to a holy life—not because of anything we have done but because of his own purpose and grace. This grace was given us in Christ Jesus before the beginning of time, but it has now been revealed through the appearing of our Savior, Christ Jesus, who has destroyed death and has brought life and immortality to light through the gospel. And of this gospel I was appointed a herald and an apostle and a teacher. That is why I am suffering as I am. Yet this is no cause for shame, because I know whom I have believed, and am convinced that he is able to guard what I have entrusted to him until that day. What you heard from me, keep as the pattern of sound teaching, with faith and love in Christ Jesus. Guard the good deposit that was entrusted to you—guard it with the help of the Holy Spirit who lives in us.
