Ohana Prayer 422 – 1 Timothy 6
But godliness actually is a source of great gain when accompanied by contentment [that contentment which comes from a sense of inner confidence based on the sufficiency of God]. For we have brought nothing into the world, so [it is clear that] we cannot take anything out of it, either. But if we have food and clothing, with these we will be content. I Tim 6:6-8 (AMP)
Jehovah Jireh, praise be unto Your forever lasting name! You are our heavenly Father! All the universe and creatures are sustained by You. Our lives and existence, even our dwellings, are protected by You and no harm can come unless You have permitted to be! Nor anybody can rip us apart from You or separate us from Your love! The love, agape, that was granted to us via Your Son, Jesus Christ! Thank you, our loving heavenly Father, for giving us the authority to get up early in the morning to come to Your throne of grace and worship You without fear. To receive your mercy, to receive your grace, and to be our help at any time of need. We seek You and do Your will. May we live in Your presence all our lives, serving You with holiness and justice, sincerely, and bear that beautiful testimony for You. May the honor and eternal power belong to You, from now to forever. Amen.
Praise to the One who was given all authorities, Jesus Christ. You are the King of kings and Lord of lords, the only Savior who has suffered death for our sake. Whom have we in heaven but You? And besides You, we desire nothing on earth. Our flesh and our heart may fail, but God is the rock and strength of our hearts and portion forever. Our bodies will decline, our hands and feet will be disobedient, our spirits will weaken, and we often forget important things, but Lord Jesus, You are the strength of our body, soul, and our blessing. With Your presence. It is heaven, and its content. Lord Jesus, forgive us for not relying on Jehovah with all our heart and forgiving our sins. We spent a lot of time focusing on unrighteous things, polluting our hearts and thoughts, and losing faith, hope, and love. Forgive us for wearing colored contact lenses for our eyes. Unconsciously, we are dissatisfied with the world, dissatisfied with the community, dissatisfied with the work, dissatisfied with the church, dissatisfied with the family, and even dissatisfied with ourselves who are full of bitterness. If we regard sin and baseness in our hearts that is, if we know it is there and do nothing about it, The Lord will not hear us.
Holy Spirit, mighty to help! Help us burn our arrogant, arrogant, questioning, and arguing words with a spiritual fire, so that our hearts no longer have any space to store jealousy, division, slander, suspicion, and compete. Let no evil roots arise, trap us in confusion, traps, and many ignorant and harmful lusts, and save us from sinking into corruption and perdition. Holy Spirit supports us so that we will not be concealed by the epidemic like an avalanche, and we will not be intimidated by natural and man-made calamities. Our hope will not be blinded. The war and political situation of the world will not take away our love and peace. Open our eyes to see everything from the pure words of Christ and the doctrine of godliness. First seek to pray and get close to the Father and caress the Father’s heart, and then lay a solid foundation in justice, godliness, faith, love, patience, and gentleness. After standing firm, we can rise to fight the good fight for the truth and hold on to eternal life. Wake up why we are called! What testimony should we live! Holy Spirit helps us to keep what is entrusted to us away from specious false talk. So we can build up ourselves on the most holy truth, build a beautiful foundation with prayer, and live a life that glorifies the name of the Lord in contentment and happiness.
Pray this in the name of Jesus. Amen.
I Timothy 6
1 All who are under the yoke of slavery should consider their masters worthy of full respect, so that God’s name and our teaching may not be slandered.
6-12 But godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it. But if we have food and clothing, we will be content with that. Those who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge people into ruin and destruction. For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs. But you, man of God, flee from all this, and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance and gentleness. Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you made your good confession in the presence of many witnesses.
17-21 Command those who are rich in this present world not to be arrogant nor to put their hope in wealth, which is so uncertain, but to put their hope in God, who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment. Command them to do good, to be rich in good deeds, and to be generous and willing to share. In this way they will lay up treasure for themselves as a firm foundation for the coming age, so that they may take hold of the life that is truly life. Timothy, guard what has been entrusted to your care. Turn away from godless chatter and the opposing ideas of what is falsely called knowledge, which some have professed and in so doing have departed from the faith.
