Ohana Prayer 405 – Colossians 1
3 We always thank God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, when we pray for you,
4 because we have heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and of the love you have for all God’s people—
5 the faith and love that spring from the hope stored up for you in heaven and about which you have already heard in the true message of the gospel
9 For this reason, since the day we heard about you, we have not stopped praying for you. We continually ask God to fill you with the knowledge of his will through all the wisdom and understanding that the Spirit gives,
10 so that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God,
11 being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience,
12 and giving joyful thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of his holy people in the kingdom of light.
16 For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him.
17 He is before all things, and in him all things hold together.
20 and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross.
23 if you continue in your faith, established and firm, and do not move from the hope held out in the gospel. This is the gospel that you heard and that has been proclaimed to every creature under
heaven, and of which I, Paul, have become a servant.
28 He is the one we proclaim, admonishing and teaching everyone with all wisdom, so that we may present everyone fully mature in Christ
Praise the Meticulous Lord, our Father in Heaven. You bring changes to times and seasons with Your mighty hands. We pray in solitude in this misty spring morning and offer our thanks to the God whose name is Amen, Jesus, the Amend, the God of Truth and Faithfulness. Yes, amen, we fully agreed. Help us to live the true meaning of amen.
We give you thanks for giving us the strength when we are weak, the encouragement when we lose hope, and Your love when our hearts stop showing love to others. Your never-ending love is everlasting. Thank you that when our sin runs deep, Your love and grace run even deeper
Lord Jesus, thank you for illuminating the world with the Father’s glorious light. In Your presence, there is joy and hope for the hopeless. You never turn away anyone that come to You for help nor refuse to heal anyone. You support the fallen, comfort the sorrowful. You will not break a bent reed or put out a flickering lamp because You are Love.
Forgive us for listening to gossips and foul languages but turning a deaf ear to your reminders, for corrupting our hearts and minds with bitterness and resentments, for giving up the peace that You established and the ministry of reconciliation to make peace with God. We forget that You are sitting at the right hand of Father watching us. We must first know God before we start to serve Him and further, we must understand His will before we start doing His work.
Holy Spirit, remind us not to fall away from the first love for the Lord. Teach us so that we will remain grounded and steadfast in the faith. Don’t let the pattern of the world, society trends, the pandemics, the disasters, or reckless emotions cause us to shift away from the hope of the gospel that we heard. Lead us to walk in a manner worthy of the Lord. Let us be strengthened with all power and grace that we may be patient and tolerate with joy in everything.
Holy Spirit, wake up the churches; call on them to proclaim the gospel, and to lead people to Christ. Use all wisdom to counsel and teach God’s word to people that their live may be a testimony of love, peace, and goodness and that they may be presented to the Holy God. Let the world see that because of our faith in God, even in turbulent times we can live out our identify in Christ, witness for Christ, and bring glory to Christ.
In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen
