Ohana Prayer 404 – Philippians 4

1  Therefore, my brothers and sisters, you whom I love and long for, my joy and crown, stand firm in the Lord in this way, dear friends!

4  Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! 

5  Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. 

6  Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 

7  And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

8  Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. 

11  I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. 

12  I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. 

13  I can do all this through him who gives me strength.

19  And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.

20  To our God and Father be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

Praise the Lord who can speaks things into existence, our Father in Heaven. Thank you for giving us breath, life, and strength. You are our shelter, our ever-present help. We come to Your throne of grace for mercy this morning with confidence.

Father, open our spiritual eyes to look at this ever-changing world in Your perspective. Give us wisdom and empathy to understand the pain and suffering of this world, the moaning and weeping of the feeble and destitute people. Show us how to be a blessing to those in need by sharing what we have and Your message to give them renewed hope.

Thank you that Jesus opened the door of salvation to everyone. He also stands at our door and knock because He wants to have a relationship with us and He wants us to choose him. Thank you that in the storm of our lives, You are there. You treat us to a feast, while our enemies watch. You honor us as your guests, and you fill our cups until they overflow. Lord Jesus, We rejoice in You always.

Thank you that You promise to answer whatever we ask in Your name according to God’s will. Therefore, we don’t worry about anything, but pray about everything. With thankful hearts we offer up our prayers and requests to God. And God’s peace, which is far beyond human understanding, will keep our hearts and minds safe in Christ Jesus. Forgive us that we allow the needle of resentment poke holes in our faith and hope, and anger and bitterness spread like pollens.

Holy Spirit, thank you that you indoctrinate God’s laws in us. Help us so that this book of laws will not depart from our mouth and that we will meditate on it day and night. We are to fill our minds with those things that are good and that deserve praise: things that are true, noble, right, pure, lovely, and honorable so that we can endure the resurgence of the pandemic, the disasters, or the social unrest. Be determined and confident that whatever we are facing, we will not be afraid because the Lord Himself, is with us; nothing can separate us from His love. Christ Jesus’ broken body and shed blood is the proof of God’s everlasting love for us. Now unto our God and Father be the glory for ever and ever.
