Ohana Prayer 292 – Luke 21

1 As Jesus looked up, he saw the rich putting their gifts into the temple treasury.

2 He also saw a poor widow put in two very small copper coins.

3 “Truly I tell you,” he said, “this poor widow has put in more than all the others.

8 He replied: “Watch out that you are not deceived. For many will come in my name, claiming, ‘I

am he,’ and, ‘The time is near.’ Do not follow them.

9 When you hear of wars and uprisings, do not be frightened. These things must happen first,

but the end will not come right away.”

10 Then he said to them: “Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom.

11 There will be great earthquakes, famines and pestilences in various places, and fearful

events and great signs from heaven.

14 But make up your mind not to worry beforehand how you will defend yourselves.

15 For I will give you words and wisdom that none of your adversaries will be able to resist or

contradict.

18 But not a hair of your head will perish.

19 Stand firm, and you will win life.

3 Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.

34 “Be careful, or your hearts will be weighed down with carousing, drunkenness and the

anxieties of life, and that day will close on you suddenly like a trap.

Praise the Lord of unending grace and goodness, our Father God in heaven. May our bodies,

hearts and spirits be embraced by your love. May we offer ourselves on the altar of dedication

and commit ourselves in the warehouse of your mission. Let us sing the words of praise always.

May our early morning prayers be acceptable to you; remembering that when we serve you

diligently, we will find favor in your eyes!

Thank you Heavenly Father for not belittling our feeble strength and tiny voices. You have

heard our cry from the pandemic, adversities and hardship. Thank you for sending envoys of

angels to camp around us and save us so we have a taste of the Lord’s kindness. We firmly

believe “for those who fear you and take refuge in you will have all they need. Even strong

young lions sometimes go hungry, but those who trust in the Lord will lack no good thing.”

Thank you, Lord Jesus. You foretold that there will be great anguish. Before the period of the

Gentiles comes to an end, there will be false messiahs, wars, famines, pestilences, earthquakes

and strange signs from heaven. There will be great panic. However you have promised that

regardless of what is going to happen, not a hair of our heads will perish. By standing firm, we

will win our souls.

Thank you Lord. You gave us a beautiful church. We will only boast about you, our Lord Jesus;

we will hold up your cross and be content that all brothers and sisters prosper the gospel in

harmony and unity. We will keep watch and pray; your temple will be called a house of prayers

for all nations.

Holy Spirit! May your flame of revival come and enlighten our churches. May your fire come

down and burn our tears and sweat-drenched wood even though they are on the altar which is

soaking-wet and is lying lowly in a ditch. May we bring out the true light of salvation and the

warmth of righteousness to wake up the aimless and confused generations so they are no

longer entangled in the worldly desires but escape the devil’s trap and know that the kingdom

of the Father is near.

Holy Spirit, give us the strength to stand up and lift our heads high. Thaw the frozen seeds in

our hearts to sprout new life: give us eloquence and wisdom to declare the coming of hope like

springtime: give us perseverance to live out the power of summer growth; give us the courage

to bear the fruits of life in autumn harvest. May the Father be glorified for we are the true

disciples of the Lord.

We pray in the holy name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen!
