Ohana Prayer 264 – Matthew 20
1“For the kingdom of heaven is like a landowner who went out early in the morning to hire workers for his vineyard.
2 He agreed to pay them a denarius for the day and sent them into his vineyard.
8 “When evening came, the owner of the vineyard said to his foreman, ‘Call the workers and pay them their wages, beginning with the last ones hired and going on to the first.’
9 “The workers who were hired about five in the afternoon came and each received a denarius.
10 So when those came who were hired first, they expected to receive more. But each one of them also received a denarius.
13 “But he answered one of them, ‘I am not being unfair to you, friend. Didn’t you agree to work for a denarius?
14 Take your pay and go. I want to give the one who was hired last the same as I gave you.
15 Don’t I have the right to do what I want with my own money? Or are you envious because I am generous?’
25 Jesus called them together and said, “You know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their high officials exercise authority over them.
26 Not so with you. Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant,
27 and whoever wants to be first must be your slave—
28 just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”
Praise to our God whose works are according to His will, our Heavenly Father! All things are of Your pleasure! You will never mistreat us but we cannot say this same. For we process: living in the promised land where cities are built not by us, houses full of material goods that’s not by our might, wells that we did not dig, and produce of olives and grapes that we did not plant. We can be of abundance is all due to Your guidance with love and mercy. We must worship You wholeheartedly, serve You with all our might, and work until we finish this race on earth.
Thanks to be our Lord Jesus! You left of examples for us to emulate and we need to unite with You in a single accord of heart. You took on the role of the servant with great humility to serve our LORD. Lord Jesus, please help us to morph daily to assimilate of You, murmur not, dispute not, blameless, honest and with integrity in everything we do, and running this race toward the goal. May the Lord lead us in this crooked and paradoxical time, especially under the panic and pressure caused by the epidemic and still be counted for as children of God so that no one can criticize us. Live clean, innocent lives as children of God, shining like bright lights in a world full of crooked and perverse people. Living out the hope of eternal life so we are not merely an item but be able to spread out spiritual gifts to bridge others to Christ.
Heal of our shortsightedness, O Holy Spirit! So that we are not disturbed to the current surroundings and events. Heal our green eyes, get rid of our jealousy, complaints and bitterness. Because of the privilege and authority God has given, this warning: Don’t think you are better than you really are. Be honest in your evaluation of yourselves, measuring yourselves by the faith God has given us.
We pray for Your giving to us of the spiritual compass so that we can focus racing toward the correct direction, regardless of hardships and obstacles, diligent and unremitting, and our heart is fiery, often serving the Lord and loving others. Rejoice in our confident hope. Be patient in trouble, and keep on praying. When God’s people are in need, be ready to help them. Always be eager to practice hospitality.
Bless those who persecute us. Don’t curse them; pray that God will bless them. Be happy with those who are happy, and weep with those who weep. Live in harmony with each other. Instead of repaying evil with evil, you can overcome evil with good, doing everything for the glory of the Lord.
Pray this in the holy name of Jesus. Amen.
