Ohana Prayer 258 – Matthew 14
14 When Jesus landed and saw a large crowd, he had compassion on them and healed their sick.
19 And he directed the people to sit down on the grass. Taking the five loaves and the two fish and looking up to heaven, he gave thanks and broke the loaves. Then he gave them to the disciples, and the disciples gave them to the people.
21 The number of those who ate was about five thousand men,
23 After he had dismissed them, he went up on a mountainside by himself to pray. Later that night, he was there alone,
28 “Lord, if it’s you,” Peter replied, “tell me to come to you on the water.”
29 “Come,” he said. Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus.
30 But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, “Lord, save me!”
31 Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. “You of little faith,” he said, “why did you doubt?”
32 And when they climbed into the boat, the wind died down.
33 Then those who were in the boat worshiped him, saying, “Truly you are the Son of God.”
36 and begged him to let the sick just touch the edge of his cloak, and all who touched it were healed.
Our eternal God, our Heavenly Father! Enjoying of the morning in peace, we offer up our hearts and mind to dwell in Your presence so close that we can touch the tassel draping down from Your mercy seat. We enjoy the moments spend with You refreshing and renewing of our understanding and deeper knowledge of You. With You, our emotions, spirit, and mood can relax with no bordering and worrying, only concentrating and focus on You and preparing to face today.
Lord Jesus! You have walked amongst us so You have a very vivid understanding of our shocks and fears. The occurrence of the pandemic, the tidal waves, the volcanic explosion, and the uncertainty of governments keeps coming at us so we feel of tired, weary and our hands sagging and legs sore that we can’t stand up! But thanks to our Lord for You have proclaimed: ‘it is I, do not be afraid!’ You have full knowledge of what circumstances we are in and our fear of the pandemic is to overcome us like the boat is sinking. We acknowledge that our faith is small and still have lots of room for doubt of Your presence! Now we pray for Your deliverance, mindful that You are in the boat with us and can stop the ragging storm. We prostrate to You, worship You, proclaiming that You truly are the Son of God, our Messiah!
Omnipotent Holy Spirit! If only a church offers up the 5 loaves and 2 fishes, You can use them to feed hundreds and thousands to fill. We, the church and believers, now put on the sack cloth and place ash on our heads like of Nineveh, waiting of the fire of revival to cause us to light up the lamp of morning prayers, the candle light in the evening. Let us renew and revive so the lamp now is a beacon to send out the light to guide this lost world and to purge out the darkness. So, many will come to the knowledge of salvation as we live out our lives with good works so all the glory and praises will return to our Heavenly Father!
We pray this prayer in the name of Jesus. Amen.
