Ohana Prayer 256 – Matthew 12
8 For the Son of Man is Lord of the Sabbath.”
12 How much more valuable is a person than a sheep! Therefore it is lawful to do good on the Sabbath.”
13 Then he said to the man, “Stretch out your hand.” So he stretched it out and it was completely restored, just as sound as the other.
18 “Here is my servant whom I have chosen, the one I love, in whom I delight; I will put my Spirit on him, and he will proclaim justice to the nations.
19 He will not quarrel or cry out; no one will hear his voice in the streets.
20 A bruised reed he will not break, and a smoldering wick he will not snuff out, till he has brought justice through to victory.
21 In his name the nations will put their hope.
31 And so I tell you, every kind of sin and slander can be forgiven, but blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven.
35 A good man brings good things out of the good stored up in him, and an evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in him.
36 But I tell you that everyone will have to give account on the day of judgment for every empty word they have spoken.
Praise to be to our Creator’s name, El Olam! You are also our Heavenly Father who according to Your wondrous plan created all things in six days and then rested on the seventh day. After You created Adonai on the sixth day and next declared of the Sabbath, the Day of rest. By resting , You shared of Your love with us. Teaching us of how to rest in You. We also ask of Your forgiveness of our little faith casting doubt of You in this pandemic by not boldly display of our faith and works liken placing the lamp under the lampstand so the beacon is not shining out. Our souls are without peace and joy with our hearts desensitized.
Lord Jesus, You are the Lord of the Sabbath! We know of Your character: ‘A bruised reed he will not break, and a smoldering wick he will not snuff out.’ Lord, we beech You not to depart from us and to walk with us facing the insecurities of this world, the pandemic, and lives’ happenings. All pressuring us like nails prick through the tire causing us to lose our spiritual momentum. Lord Jesus, take this flattened warned out tire, repair and refill it with the holy love and power. Once re-energized, You will set us back on course toward the heavenly destination. But, we know the path is yet on-going and we plead for Your everlasting arm to embrace us so we can reach it.
O, the Spirit of Truth! Come and enlighten us that we can press onward to higher ground of our spiritual lives, no profanity, no gossip, no contention, no clamor. Keeping us in God’s agape. Looking upward and forward toward Christ for mercy, leading us onto a live of prayers, intercession, thanksgiving until we cross over to the golden shore.
Pray in the name of our Lord Jesus. Amen.
You Raise Me Up Song by Josh Groban
When I am down and, oh my soul, so weary
When troubles come and my heart burdened be
Then, I am still and wait here in the silence
Until You come and sit awhile with me.
You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains
You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas
I am strong, when I am on your shoulders
You raise me up to more than I can be
You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains
You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas
I am strong, when I am on your shoulders
You raise me up to more than I can be.
