Ohana Prayer 234 – Mark 4
24 “Consider carefully what you hear,” he continued. “With the measure you use, it will be measured to you—and even more.
30 Again he said, “What shall we say the kingdom of God is like, or what parable shall we use to describe it?
31 It is like a mustard seed, which is the smallest of all seeds on earth.
32 Yet when planted, it grows and becomes the largest of all garden plants, with such big branches that the birds can perch in its shade.”
36 Leaving the crowd behind, they took him along, just as he was, in the boat. There were also other boats with him.
37 A furious squall came up, and the waves broke over the boat, so that it was nearly swamped.
38 Jesus was in the stern, sleeping on a cushion. The disciples woke him and said to him, “Teacher, don’t you care if we drown?”
39 He got up, rebuked the wind and said to the waves, “Quiet! Be still!” Then the wind died down and it was completely calm.
40 He said to his disciples, “Why are you so afraid? Do you still have no faith?”
Praise to our everlasting and steadfast GOD, our Heavenly Father. Just as thick cloud blocked out the moon’s light, negative thoughts overshadowed us causing us to lost faith. Worry caused us to lose our way. We thank you for Your Word that was placed next to us, shinning out the beam to guide us back onto the path. Pray that the Word guides us to be a light in the world and people will praise You when they see our good works and the hope that was placed in us. By Your grace that that was given to each one that we do not think of ourselves more highly than we ought, but rather think of ourselves with sober judgment, in accordance with the faith God has distributed to each of us.
Dear Lord Jesus, we long to dwell with you and Your word in our hearts. If we remain in You and Your words remain in us, ask whatever we wish, and it will be done for us. We thank you for you telling of the parables in the Gospels. It is a punishment for those who have no desire to seek because they seek but not find, look but do not see, and hear but do not understand. But for those who seek out the truth, it’s an encouragement and booster of our faith. It truly is blessed to live a life embracing Your Word. For this is a lifelong blessing.
Facing of the storm caused by the covid -19 pandemic, it is as if all the boats are taking on water no matter the size to almost to the sinking point. We thank you that You are with those on the believer’s boat that our fear can be subsided and we can also sleep on the cushion. However, we raise up our hands and pray for our family and friends that are also in boat that You will calm the wind and waves that are battering them. That they may come to know of Your loving kindness and peace. Heal those who are affected by this virus!
O Holy Spirit, grant us the strength and patience to cleanse our heart, purge out the evil thoughts, deceit, greed, bitterness, and complaints in our mind. Plot the field of our hearts, nourishment’s Your anointing, keep a tender heart, and receiving the planting of the uprightness. Bearing the fruit of the Spirit to produce a crop—some thirty, some sixty, some a hundred times what was sown exampling a faithful Christian in the community. Open our spiritual eyes, understanding that the Spirit makes judgments about all things, measure out to give blessings to the church, blessings to others. For freely we have received; freely give that we not only exist to take up space and resources, not wasting of the Spiritual gifts given to us and go home empty handed.
Pray in the blessed name of Jesus, Amen.
