Ohana Prayer 231 – Mark 1

9 At that time Jesus came from Nazareth in Galilee and was baptized by John in the Jordan.

10 Just as Jesus was coming up out of the water, he saw heaven being torn open and the Spirit descending on him like a dove.

11 And a voice came from heaven: “You are my Son, whom I love; with you I am well pleased.”

12 At once the Spirit sent him out into the wilderness,

13 and he was in the wilderness forty days, being tempted by Satan. He was with the wild animals, and angels attended him.

16 As Jesus walked beside the Sea of Galilee, he saw Simon and his brother Andrew casting a net into the lake, for they were fishermen.

17 “Come, follow me,” Jesus said, “and I will send you out to fish for people.”

18 At once they left their nets and followed him.

35 Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed.

39 So he traveled throughout Galilee, preaching in their synagogues and driving out demons.

Our Creator, our Father! Thank you for Your patience of us encircling what we think is the right paths but they are all of none and made waste of our lives, lacking understanding of Father’s love and care. Your Word came into in flesh, after 400 years of silence, to shine and guide us of the proper way of reconciliation enabling us of coming to Your presence.

We praise Yahweh of the foundation of mercy and grace! Though of our piety, we lack appreciation of the changing of the seasons, the gentle breeze pampers us on a hot day, knowledge of how to deal with the current pandemic, the unstable political climate, and the aging of our physical bodies. Yet we praise You still since You are our joy, placing us always near to You, keeping us, and give us new hope every morning. You have given us hope and trust that all things are providential that all we need to do is to trust and obey. You will deliver us and set us on higher ground when the flood comes, resting in the pasture when we need resting, for, great is Your faithfulness.

Jesus, you came to fulfill the plan of salvation and the law. Providing us examples of forgivingness, of ultimate sacrificial love, following your footstep of valuing relationship with our Heavenly Father via morning prayer, meditation of God’s word, and live not just for today but for eternity. Following your example of being fisher of men as we draw others to you and morphing daily to your likeness.

Holy Spirit, come and take control of our hearts, deter us from evil doings by reminding us the word, steer clear of the ungodly and mend us when broken. Renew our hearts and faith. Grow us in love, and understanding that we can be the light to this age of darkness. Yet we can be as gentle as lace and tough as denim when facing adversity and the attack from the evil one. Let us be the guiding path so others can come to the saving knowledge of Jesus and be the stepping stone rather than a stumbling block.

In our loving and victorious name of Jesus, Amen.
