Ohana Prayer 199 – Proverbs 12

1 Whoever loves discipline loves knowledge, but whoever hates correction is stupid.

2  Good people obtain favor from the LORD, but he condemns those who devise wicked schemes.

3  No one can be established through wickedness, but the righteous cannot be uprooted.

14  From the fruit of their lips people are filled with good things, and the work of their hands brings them reward.

15  The way of fools seems right to them, but the wise listen to advice.

22  The LORD detests lying lips, but he delights in people who are trustworthy.

25  Anxiety weighs down the heart, but a kind word cheers it up.

Praise the Lord, our Father in heaven, who created the universe. Wisdom is yours and wisdom comes from you. Thank you for considering us worthy. You place us in your vast expanse, and embrace us with boundless intelligence and unconditional love. Thank you for starting a new day for us in serenity. The chill of the morning reminds us that autumn has arrived. Despite the ups and downs of the pandemic, social turmoil and a series of adverse news over our city; we firmly believe that you can do marvelous deeds. You will save us from the power of darkness and bring us into the kingdom of your beloved son.

Breathe on me, breath of Lord Jesus. Let me breathe in your presence, receive your assurance and go forward with your guiding hand. When we breathe in, let us accept your reminder and your rebuke. When we exhale, let us expel our sins and selfish desires; drive away the evil, bitterness, anger, deceit, jealousy, distress and ignorance in our heart. Then we will no longer linger in the memories of past successes and failures. Help us crucify our old self with You, so we no longer live but Christ lives in us. We now live by faith because You love us and gave yourself for us.

Holy Spirit, please guide us with your precepts. “Whom have I in heaven but You? And earth has nothing I desire besides You. My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.” Please not only support our hearts, but also strengthen our faith and ignite our lamp of hope to continue illuminating before others. Please have mercy on us. Also support our bodies and keep our feet from slipping and stumbling. Please restrain and discipline our hearts, so that we can lift up our sagging hands and sore legs. Then after enduring the harsh trials, more people will have eternal life because of our witnessing by bearing the fruits of peace and leading a life of righteousness.

Sincere prayer is requested in the holy name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen!
