Ohana Prayer 195 – Proverbs 8

7  My mouth speaks what is true, for my lips detest wickedness.

8  All the words of my mouth are just; none of them is crooked or perverse.

9  To the discerning all of them are right; they are upright to those who have found knowledge.

10  Choose my instruction instead of silver, knowledge rather than choice gold,

11  for wisdom is more precious than rubies, and nothing you desire can compare with her.

12  “I, wisdom, dwell together with prudence; I possess knowledge and discretion.

13  To fear the LORD is to hate evil; I hate pride and arrogance, evil behavior and perverse speech.

Praise the Lord our Father in heaven, your law is perfect and can revive the heart. Your statutes are firm and can regain wisdom for the ignorant. Your precepts are upright and can fill the heart with joy and happiness. Your commands are clean and can brighten people’s eyes. Your words are pure and can stand forever. Your ordinance is true and just. The teachings of the entire Bible are more precious than gold and sweeter than honey.

Lord Jesus Christ, please redeem us with your blood again. Please forgive our wrong doings and our hidden transgressions. Please save us when our hearts and minds are completely out of control amid the pandemic and social turmoil. We let evil, bitterness, pride, self-righteousness and arrogance deeply rooted in our souls, ruling over us. We even allow perversions and falsehood spread to every corner of the world and permeate our daily lives.

Holy Spirit, please let me hold onto you tightly. Please bind us with Proverbs, forbid us to walk the path of corruption or speak with offensive languages. In this age of deteriorating morality, please give us the spirit of revival. May your church be revived, our complacent minds be renewed and our heavy heart become alive again. Holy Spirit, may you pour out your shower of blessings onto our withering spirits; nourish our spiritual life with heavenly food and enlighten our future with true light. So we will no longer bring shame to the name of the Lord in our lives but able to take up the cross as our mission: to bear fruits that are more valuable than gold, and be a living testimony that can glorify God and be beneficial to others.

We pray in the holy name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen!
