Ohana Prayer 192 – Proverbs 5

1 My son, pay attention to my wisdom, turn your ear to my words of insight,

2  that you may maintain discretion and your lips may preserve knowledge.

7  Now then, my sons, listen to me; do not turn aside from what I say.

8  Keep to a path far from her, do not go near the door of her house,

21  For your ways are in full view of the LORD, and he examines all your paths.

22  The evil deeds of the wicked ensnare them; the cords of their sins hold them fast.

23  For lack of discipline they will die, led astray by their own great folly.

Praise be to the Lord, who created the heavens and all things. Our Father in heaven, as we get up in the morning and lift our eyes to the mountains on high, we ask for your holy name. Thank you for your help: keeping us safe, protecting us from wildfires and disasters. Throughout the night, You protected us from all disasters. We open our hearts to You with awe. In a fresh new day, we rely on Your Holy Spirit's enlightenment for today's walk. Please teach us to walk the way of wisdom; guide us along the path of integrity so that we will not stumble; tell us to walk on the path of the righteous and experience the light of dawn, shining brighter and brighter until noon.

Lord Jesus, you are the vine and we are the branches. Let us abide in You and keep your words in our hearts as our values of this life. By doing so, we will not only avoid living out a life that will offend You , but also gain the confidence that our prayers will be answered. Lord Jesus please prune us, remove the branches of selfishness and arrogance. Please cut off the branches that do not bear fruit, so as not to waste the days and all the blessings you have given us. Please help us to bear more fruit on time, so that our heavenly Father can be glorified and we can truly be worthy of being called Your disciples.

Holy Spirit who inspects our heart and knows all our thoughts, please come to ignite our hearts and grant us a lampstand of discernment. In this way, the teachings of the truth and wisdom in the Bible will act as the light on our path: allowing us not to be fooled by the sly and scheming words around us, helping us to see through their slick mouths and wicked hearts, uncovering the truth of the arguments in disguise, avoiding a trap that leads us to hell. Holy Spirit, we ask that you keep our hearts pure without the entanglement of sin. Holy Spirit, we ask you to inspire us with the unconditional love of Christ during these times of pandemic, turmoil and disasters. So together we can build a ladder of hope, a road of comforting love and care, leading others away from bitterness and hardship.

Our prayer is asking in the holy name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen!
